Four ‘Q’ prospects capture Monctonian ‘AAA’ Challenge title with Flyers

Four Quebec Major Junior Hockey League prospects captured this year’s Monctonian ‘AAA’ Challenge title in Moncton, N.B., on Sunday.

Kyle Ward (Saint John), Felix LeBlanc (Rimouski), Alexandre Jacob (Moncton) and Julian Galloway (Rimouski) were among the Moncton Mark’s Work Wearhouse Flyers, who defeated the Cape Breton West Islanders 3-2 to capture this year’s tournament title.

Ward, 16, was drafted by the Sea Dogs at the 2014 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft in round nine, 149th overall.

LeBlanc, 16, was selected by the Océanic at the 2014 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft in round eight, 139th overall.

Jacob, 17, was drafted by the Wildcats at the 2013 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft in round five, 87th overall.

Galloway, 17, was selected by the Océanic at the 2014 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft in round nine, 158th overall.

The Flyers return to their N.B./P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League regular season on Sunday, Nov. 23, when they host the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild.
