Russia’s Mamin leaves game one of Subway Super Series

Team Russia forward Maxim Mamin left Monday’s game against the Western Hockey League on a stretcher after taking a hard him from defenceman Joe Hicketts during the first period.

Mamin, who plays for CSKA Moskva of the Kontinental Hockey League, was taken to a Saskatoon hospital to be checked, and did not return to the game.

Game two of the Subway Super Series goes Tuesday in Brandon, Man., with Team Western Hockey League facing the Russians.
