Danny Moynihan suspended two games
Halifax Mooseheads forward Danny Moynihan has been suspended for two games by the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The suspension is in reaction to an incident which occurred in the Mooseheads 5-4 overtime loss to the Moncton Wildcats on Saturday.
Moynihan was assessed a minor penalty for boarding after slamming Wildcats defencman Dominic Talbot-Tassi into the end-boards. Talbot-Tassi was injured on the play.
The Boston, Mass. native was suspended earlier this season for checking from behind. Moynihan sat out for one game after laying an illegal hit on Saint John Sea Dogs’ forward Matthew Highmore.
The six-foot centre will return to the Mooseheads lineup on Saturday, Nov. 15 when the Herd visit the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles at Centre 200.
Moynihan has 12 points in 18 games for the Mooseheads this season.
