Four QMJHL players to participate in Subway Super Series with Team Russia

Four Quebec Major Junior Hockey League players will join Team Russia when the six-game Subway Super Series shifts to the QMJHL.

Cape Breton Screaming Eagles forwards Maxim Lazarev and Evgeny Svechnikov, along with Moncton Wildcats forwards Ivan Barbashev and Vladimir Tkachev will each participate in the tw0-game series against the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Lazarev, 18, has recorded nine goals and 15 assists for 24 points in 19 games with the Screaming Eagles, meanwhile Svechnikov, 18, has also notched nine goals and 15 assists for 24 points in 19 games.

Barbashev, 18, has posted 13 goals and 10 assists for 23 points in 16 games with the Wildcats, while Tkachev, 19, has recorded four goals and 12 assists for 16 points in 13 games.

The Subway Super Series gets underway Nov 10, however the series doesn’t shift to the QMJHL until Nov. 18, in Bathurst, N.B., and Nov. 20 in Rimouski, Que.
