Islanders trade prospect Cusson to Titan

The Charlottetown Islanders have traded prospect Matthew Cusson to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in exchange for a late draft pick.

In return, the Islanders receive a 12th-round pick in 2015.

Cusson, 18, was acquired by the Islanders during last year’s Christmas trading period from the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada for Matthew Bursey. The Dorval, Que., native skated in four games with the Islanders last season scoring one goal.

Cusson has been skating with the Lachine Maroons of the LHJQ (Junior A) and has four goals and 12 points in 20 games.

Since only 20-year-old and European players can be moved before the Christmas trade period which opens up mid-December. Cusson can only play in 10 games with the Titan as an affiliate player.

The trade became official by the QMJHL today.
