REPORT: Foreurs acquire Mandat from Tigres

The Victoriaville Tigres have traded Jan Mandat to the Val-d’Or Foreurs for a fourth-round pick, according to La Nouvelle in Victoriaville.

Mandat, 18, was drafted 24th overall by the Tigres in the 2013 CHL Import Draft and scored 12 goals and 33 points in 61 games last season. This season, the Jihlava, Czech Republic native has a goal and an assist in seven games.

The trade comes less than 24 hours after the Tigres claimed import player Nikita Li off of waivers from the Saint John Sea Dogs and had three European players. It looks like they have opted to go with Li and Filip Pyrochta as the team’s two European players.

The trade has not yet become official by the QMJHL.
