10 ‘Q’ prospects to participate in Telus Cup final with Grenadiers

The Grenadiers de Châteauguay have advanced to the 2014 Telus Cup final.

The Grenadiers defeated the Toronto Young Nationals 6-1 in their semi-final game at the Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw, Sask., on Saturday.

Among the Grenadiers roster are 10 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League prospects. Justin Samson (Rimouski), Martin-Olivier Cardinal (Victoriaville), Samuel Laberge (Rimouski), Jean-Sébastien Taillefer (Halifax), Brendon McCulloch (Rimouski), Danick Crête (Victoriaville), Etienne Montpetit (Val-d’Or) and Ryan Coughlin (Gatineau) will each play in the championship game against the Prince Albert Mintos on Sunday.

In the other semi-final game on Saturday, the Mintos downed the Okanagan Rockets 6-3.

Sunday’s championship game can be seen on TSN 2 at 5 p.m. EST.
