Fournier Signs with Habs

The co-captain of the 2012-13 Halifax Mooseheads, Stefan Fournier, has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Montreal Canadiens.

The Dorval, Quebec native spent five seasons in the QMJHL with stops in Bathurst, Lewiston, Victoriaville and, most recently Halifax. Racking  up 212 points in 289 career regular season games, the right-handed winger went undrafted in his draft-eligible years, but an impressive 2013 QMJHL playoffs earned him an invitation to the Canadiens’ rookie development camp and ultimately, a pro-contract with the club.

The 6-foot-3 forward lead all skaters in goals during the 2013 QMJHL playoffs with 16 in just 17 games. Fournier will continue in Montreal’s training camp with the development camp ending tomorrow afternoon.
