Cats to Name New Head Coach Tomorrow

A little over three months after relieving Danny Flynn from the Head Coach portion of his dual Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations title, the Moncton Wildcats are set to name his replacement tomorrow at noon.

At the end of his sixth year in the dual role, Flynn was reassigned by Wildcats President Robert Irving three days after the team was eliminated from the QMJHL playoffs by the Victoriaville Tigers this past spring.

Flynn returned to the Wildcats bench to start the 2007 season after working with the Wildcats as an assistant under Ted Nolan in the 2005-2006 season and a stint with the New York Islanders organization.

The decision to remove Flynn from the bench appears to have had little to do with the man himself, as he was given a boost of confidence from the organization in June when he received a three year extension to remain on board as the Director of Hockey Operations through the 2015-16 season.

The clock will be ticking for the new coach as they prepare for the upcoming season with training camp opening in August.
